The Story
This furoshiki was designed by Umami Mart in collaboration with Japanese artist Hajime Okamoto. Kabamaru, Hajime's popular striped cat, leads the matsuri festivities, Umami Mart's annual anniversary celebration. The text reads: Matsuri da! Wasshoi, wasshoi, wasshoi, wasshoi! (English: It’s a festival! Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah!). Behind the celebrants, the golden dyed background has an ever so slight sparkle to it, adding to the party vibe.
Furoshiki can be used as a suit pocket square, an environmentally friendly and reusable gift wrap, as a bottle carrier or simply as a bandana. You can find some useful wrapping tips here.
100% cotton. Made in Kyoto, Japan.
Measures just about 50.5 x 50.5cm
Care: spot clean or hand wash with mild detergent to retain sparkle and color.
